Behind The Spa - April Update
Firstly, we want to start with a massive thank you, to everyone that has helped us launch Parsley Spa. We are excited beyond words to be doing this, and to see where this adventure takes us.
Now, where do we start…
First clients
The feelings and emotions we have both had as our first clients have booked in, have been a mix of excitement, hope, relief and anxiety.
If anyone was going to be able to build a regular client base, making Parsley Spa a success, it would be Rosie. Everyone around us has been just as confident as I am in her ability to do this. Once you’ve had a treatment from her, you quickly realise why she has always been one of the most requested therapists in all the spas she has worked in. Having people who don’t know us book in, means we have done something correct to convey trust and the amazing experience we know they will have.
Rosie: I’m absolutely in love with the tranquil space we have in Sevenoaks and have found myself looking forward to the next time I get to be back in the treatment room. I have also found I’m able to connect with clients on a far deeper level, compared to what is possible in the bigger spas I have worked in. It’s so lovely not needing to worry about having enough treatment time and selling products, we can go at the pace of the client, offering exactly what they need and ensure we both truly connect. Treatments can be so much more than just the treatment itself. I want the experience to be perfect for everyone, and I love personalising the experience to suit them.
Social Media
A couple of days before launch, we walked around Sevenoaks dropping leaflets in people’s letter boxes (which was terrifying), cafes and shops.
As we were doing this we both came to the same conclusion, that physical leaflet drops felt very old fashioned! Why were we spending hours to reach a fairly small number of people, who are most likely not at all interested in treatments, when we could spend a lot less time, reaching far more people, all of whom are interested in holistic treatments and local to Sevenoaks via social media? So, that's the last time we’ll be doing that!
We have had some great advice on how we can make our social media posts look better, which you might notice having an impact over the next few weeks. The past couple of weeks have been a massive learning curve when it comes to social media and advertising in general, so hopefully our social channels will start to settle and begin to look cohesive.
What’s Next
One of our biggest motivations for starting Parsley Spa was to help those going through cancer treatment or a difficult period in their lives, as a way to offer them relief and a chance to escape their everyday worries. So far, we have not made it as much of a focus on our social platforms and website as we’d have liked. So, this is something we are going to make really clear over the next couple of months, giving it the attention and focus it deserves as it is so important to us.
We are finalising the summer treatment and will be doing some filming for a little promotional video over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for that as well! Lastly, the two most important focusses for us now are reviews from clients and feedback from everyone, as we want to know what we can improve and what you like. So, if you are one of our amazing first clients and have the time, we would greatly appreciate if you were to leave a review on either our Facebook or Fresha pages.
Let us know if you like this behind the scenes blog and made it to the end, so we know how interesting you found it.
Sending you lots of love,
Alex and Rosie
